Description of « la physique revisitée »
Presentation of La physique revisitée
La physique revisitée is an independent scientific platform, founded in August 2025, dedicated to the publication of original physics research articles and documents that complement the historical aspects of published articles.
The goal of La physique revisitée is to offer a critical and constructive reinterpretation of the historical foundations of modern physics and to present new theoretical approaches.
Editorial scope
- Theoretical and Fundamental Physics
- Analytical and Numerical Methods Applied to Physics
- Interdisciplinary Approaches (Mathematics, Engineering, etc.)
- History of Physics
Peer Review, Dissemination and Indexing
All articles published in La physique revisitée are scientifically reviewed by researchers and experts in the field and are made available to the public as PDF files. The published works are indexed with metadata compatible with Google Scholar and referenced by a DOI assigned via the European Union’s research repository site, Zenodo, guaranteeing their long-term archiving.
Each article is associated with a document by the same author: a historical supplement detailing the discoveries or scientific advances which led to the state of knowledge which are revisited in the article.

Why this platform?
A little-used scientific approach:
Researchers essentially work on new problems, and this is, by definition, the most important aspect of research. They rely on established scientific foundations, but the historical methods of acquiring this knowledge fall within the history of science and are not their core business. Yet, as the illustrious examples cited on the home page show, the analysis, synthesis, and reinterpretation of previous work are also important aspects of research. La physique revisitée therefore aims to bring together physics and its history to improve the interpretation of scientific facts by analyzing old subjects, with the benefit of hindsight and a fresh perspective.
Open to non-researchers:
A teacher, despite his skills in his field of teaching or an engineer cannot publish individually in a scientific journal. Experience shows that in 100% of cases, publishers reject, without peer review, articles whose sole author is unaffiliated, nor can he deposit his article on Hal or on arXiv. Faced with these impossibilities, La physique revisitée is part of the « citizen research » carried out by actors who do not have the status of researcher. The platform offers a publication space open to non-researchers with proven skills in their field (Teachers, engineers, etc.).
Scientific publication is not a commodity:
Publication costs are weighing more and more heavily on the research budget and are considered a worrying phenomenon by the Deputy Director General for Science at the CNRS, Alain Schuhl: cnrs.fr/…/frais-dehttps://www.cnrs.fr/en/update/publication-costs-we-are-edge-abyss
The commodification of scientific publishing is a real problem, as we saw with the scandal surrounding the network publishing « fake » scientific articles called Tenu.pro: Real articles were paraphrased by artificial intelligence and resold to researchers who had them published in their name. La physique revisitée rejects these aberrations, which have nothing to do with science. The platform operates on a voluntary basis, the articles are intended for open access, no publication fees are charged, and no profit motive or advertising will distort its operation.
Code of ethics and best practices
Publication
The publication of scientific articles is conducted ethically and responsibly and respects current legislation, in particular the intellectual property code: Code de la propriété intellectuelle.
The publication of historical documents accompanying scientific articles is intended for educational purposes, for students in scientific fields, teachers, and researchers, or for private, non-commercial use by a public interested in the history of science. Given their potential dissemination to the general public, any images used in these documents must be royalty-free or under an open license.
Scientific ethics
Authors must adhere to the rules of scientific debate and refrain from damaging the reputation of any third party through defamatory, racist, or sexist remarks. Submitted documents containing such statements will be systematically rejected.
An author who is a member of La physique revisitée does not participate in any stage of the review process for their scientific article, which must be evaluated by at least one external reviewer. They have no access to the names of the reviewers, nor to the reports or discussions concerning their manuscript.
Authors’ responsibility
The co-authors are all responsible for the content of the documents submitted to la physique revisitée. They agree not to submit any text that could be considered copyright infringement as defined by the Intellectual Property Code. All quotations must be identified as such and the source properly cited. The authors are solely responsible for any uses that infringe on intellectual property rights.
Responsibility of evaluators
The reviewers approached must confirm that they are specialists in the subject matter; if they are not, they must decline the editor-in-chief’s invitation. This refusal remains possible after receipt of the article to be reviewed. If this situation arises, they will suggest an expert to the editor-in-chief.
They evaluate manuscripts based solely on their content and complete evaluation forms, providing the editor with as much information as possible to assist in decision-making.
Confidentiality
Submitted manuscripts are confidential documents. Documents received for evaluation are the exclusive intellectual property of their authors. Under no circumstances should reviewers disclose the content before publication without the authors’ consent. No information about a manuscript may be disclosed to anyone other than the reviewers and the editor-in-chief.
Open Access Policy
Diamond open access
Scientific articles and historical documents for educational use published with la physique revisitée are available in open, free, immediate and permanent access, also called Diamond Open Access:
- No submission or publication fees (APC) are charged to authors who submit to LPR for the evaluation, processing and publication of their articles and historical documents. Their work is instead considered as a contribution to scientific reflection and the dissemination of ideas; this is a major paradigm shift.
- All documents are available for viewing and downloading free of charge and without subscription.
Authors’ rights
The scientific articles and associated historical documents are distributed under a CC BY 4.0 license:
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.fr
The authors retain all their intellectual property rights. The CC BY 4.0 license under which the documents are distributed allows the authors to deposit the published version of their work in an open archive such as HAL, or on any other website. It should be noted that LPR systematically publishes the final version of the scientific article on the European Union’s research repository, Zenodo.
